Commonly asked questions about our Tactical Pistol Classes:

What should I wear?

You need to wear comfortable pants with belt loops.  You will be wearing a pistol belt and holster so dress accordingly.  Dress in layers so you can adjust to weather conditions.  A baseball cap is a great idea so you can keep ejecting brass from other shooters from going down your shirt.  Bring bottled water to the range, we are pretty active out there.  Your belt should be atleast 1.5″ wide from top to bottom.  If you do not have one we have tactical pistol belts for sale at the store.

How long is the class?

The class is roughly 8 hours long.  We have 3 hours or so of classroom lecture at the store.  We then head to the range and spend roughly 4 1/2 hours on the range.   There are no bathroom facilities at the range so if you have any special needs, bring what you need to take care of it.

I am old/unfit/ or over weight.  Will I be able to do the class?

If you can walk, you can do this class.   We are not running or doing anything you would not do in a normal day.

What if it is raining, or snowing?

We shoot rain or shine.  We do not offer refunds due to weather.   There is nothing wrong with being a little cold or wet and most the time, it helps people pay even more attention to the serious content of class.

I have a revolver.  Can I use it in class?

We no longer allow students to bring a revolver for use during class.  By all means bring it and use it when class is over, but the fundamentals are easier to teach when everyone is using a semi-auto and we dont have to stop class every few seconds for the lone revolver shooter to catch up.

I dont have a gun.  What kind of guns do you rent?

We have Glock 19/17/22 pistols for rent.  $40.00 gets you a gun, holster, double magazine pouch, eye and hearing protection, and 3 high capacity magazines.  You are also required to purchase 200 rounds per rental package.  These rental guns are very reliable and are a great way to test firearms before you buy.

How many rounds will I go through in this class?

You will go through 200 rounds.  It all depends on how motivated you are to do the extra credit drills after class and how often your gun jams in class.

I dont want to rent and I want to buy a gun before this class begins.

Once you register for class, you are eligible to take advantage of a $25.00 discount on the firearm, holster, and magazine pouches of your choice.  We have a fully stocked gun store and will spend all the time you need making a good purchase.  Our new pistols come with a lifetime warranty and no lemon guarantee.

There are other Concealed Carry classes in the paper and they are only $80-$100.00 and only 3 hours long.  Is that a better deal?

I personally dont see how you can get any value out of a 3 hour class.  If all you want is a piece of paper (Certificate), then by all means take someone else’s class.  A certificate will not intimidate a criminal.  Honestly, If I could I would make our class a 10 hour class, but nightfall puts an end to that.  Those 3 hour classes are designed to do one thing and one thing only, to make the instructor money!   Take a class from someone who actually cares if you live or die.   If at the end of the day you place feel a cheaper class is worth more than a good class, then you have already lost the fight and your mindset is the problem and not money.

Why do I need 3 pistol magazines and magazine pouches for this class?

Magazine pouches allow you to practice good technique and less time trying to fumble for a magazine out of your pocket.  3 magazines are the minimum if you are running a high capacity magazine(13-17 rounds).  If you are running a low capacity gun (7-8 rounds)- then bring 5 magazines.  This will allow us to spend more of the time you paid for teaching you, rather than waiting for you to load magazines.  We do not allow cheap Uncle Mike’s Holsters, and Blackhawk Serpa Holsters in this class for safety reasons.

What will we do for lunch?

Jimmy Johns brings lunch to class for us and for $7.50 includes a huge sub sandwich, bag of chips, massive cookie, and a coke.  This allows us to keep class going while you are having lunch.  The owner of the Jimmy Johns in Greeley is an Alumni of the Tactical Pistol class so please frequent his shop.

Bring and open mind and a good attitude.  You are paying for class and you will determine if you have a good day or not.  We guarantee a great class but you are responsible for yourself.   Remember this is a class on how to increase your chance of winning a fight.  Come with a mindset that is geared toward learning and pushing yourself.

Tuition:

$200.00 each for singles, $150.00 each if you bring more than one person (Max. student load is 12)

$40.00 for rental equipment if you need it.  Includes- Glock pistol-Your choice Glock 19/17/22, 3 high capacity magazines, magazine pouches, holster, eye and ear protection.  We have a limited amount of rentals so schedule early to avoid missing out.

Ammunition: 200 rounds must be purchased from the store.  No exceptions.  9mm, 40, and 45 ammo can be purchased at time of registration.

No refunds if you cancel your class.  We will be happy to reschedule you for a later class but we shoot rain or shine.  No refunds if you are removed from class for any reason (safety, not following rules and proceedures).  By scheduling and paying for your class you are agreeing to our no refund policy.
