2nd Quarter 2009 Class photos

DSCF1486

We had 2 married couples and a single in this class.  I always love it when we get couples out.  Its nice to have the same training when trouble happens and you are out in the community.

DSCF1487

Mark is rockin one of our Glock 19 rentals.

DSCF1488

Here is Joy shooting one of our Glock 19s.  Guess what gun she bought from us after class :)

DSCF1489

Joynelle here is also running a rental Glock 19 as well.

DSCF1548

Breann shooting a Glock 23 she bought from us a few days before class.

DSCF1559

Here they are class 05302009.  Father and daughter combo.  Breann is a very intense gal and I have no doubt that she will keep on improving.  I get the feeling dad is very proud :)

DSCF1575

This is your 061409 class.  From left to right Rob, Brian (Jimmy John’s owner taking the class again as a refresher), and Carlos.

DSCF1576

Shooting the first shots of the day.

DSCF1582

Carlos here rockin’ the new Glock 21SF he got from us.  He shoots that thing like its a 9mm!

DSCF1608

James getting the day started right.  With noise and smoke!

DSCF1609

This is Vicki.  She has a natural ability to shoot that I wish I had many years ago.  She impressed me the minute I met her and she only exceeded that on class day.

DSCF1618

Richard here is using our Glock 22 rentals.  The G22 have been one of our most popular pistols at the store.

DSCF1613

Dusty Rhoades shooting a MP9 he picked up from us.  You would have to look long and far to find a nicer guy.  Its a hot summer so call him at Aire Serv Heating & Air Cond 970) 356-7072 if you need to cool off.  Mention you are an Alumni and he may just hook you up!

DSCF1639

Class 062009.  As usual, and exceptional group of people.

DSCF1697

This is Floyd.  This is near the end of Advanced Pistol class.  He is sweaty, dirty, hot, tired, ……oh and that duck tape on his hands…. dont even ask…. all you need to know is he is a Bad Ass!  Way to keep fighting!

2009_0627pic0016

James getting ready to draw his pistol during dry fire drills.

2009_0627pic0017

Dry fire drills at 9 in the morning… its like caffine :)

2009_0627pic0071

Me flappin’ my gums….. seriously… I am just going blah, blah, blah, and lucky for me we have Stephanie and Amber looking cute in the picture otherwise i would have not put it in…. :)

2009_0627pic0078

Looking over Floyds shoulder.

2009_0627pic0105

Once again…. Why am I not in the middle of this!  Amber and Stephanie.  This is what happens when I staple targets and leave students unattended :)

2009_0627pic0114

Floyd in full recoil.

2009_0627pic0121

This is Amber.  She is shooting a 40 caliber Glock 23 she bought from us a while back.  She is shooting at a 8″ x 6″ steel target at 75 YARDS!!!  All of our students today shot from 0-75 yards today and made HITS!

2009_0627pic0124

Maggie looks so awesome in this picture!  When Maggie took our Tactical Pistol class a few months ago, she had great technique with her draw.  Today she showed a grace and fluidity with her reloads that was just awesome.

2009_0627pic0136

Stephanie.  What is it about this girl that I like so much!   Everything!  You would spend a lifetime and probably not find someone as well rounded as her.

2009_0627pic0137

Stephanie in the middle of a magazine dump.  Her magazine is almost cleared of the gun and she is already bringing up a full 17 round mag.   LIGHT HIM UP!

2009_0627pic0141

This is a sweet picture of James running the snake drill.  The girls in class adopted him.  There resident badass :)

2009_0627pic0145

Adam running the snake drill.  Empty case in flight.

2009_0627pic0165

Bob and Floyd in a 2 shooter team drill.  Notice the badguy.  No B.S bullseye shooting in this class.  We show you how to shoot bad people doing bad things to good people.

2009_0627pic0166

Floyd covering the 6 and Bob doing a public service for humanity by aerating a badguy :)

2009_0627pic0170

Amber…. again.  She is such a camera hog! :)   Amber was our poster girl for all our advertizing last year.  She is getting married this year to my friend and THE best officer in Weld Co.  Do not ask Amber what she wears when the Broncos are playing…. please…. :)

2009_0627pic0177

Stephanie and Amber getting ready to enter a house full of badguys…. Oh… I pity the badguys

2009_0627pic0187

Advanced Pistol Class 062709.  What can I say… ordinary people doing extraordinary things.  Anyone who has completed our Tactical pistol class is welcome to attend the next Advanced class.  You just have to ask yourself…. how good of warrior do you want to be?  Take a look… half the class is women.  Warriorship does not know gender.

A full CD of photos of this class will be available to the students that took this class.   I cannot contain how fun this class was for me.  The culmination of 4 weeks of preperation.   We added so much to this class that from now on all Advanced classes will be limited to the first 12 that sign up.  The next Advanced Class will be in August.  Dates will be emailed in our monthly newsletter.  The video is amazing and we are compiling a video that should be finish in the next few weeks.  Our Tactical Shotgun class is coming up in July and Tactical Rifle in August.  Dont miss out.

DSCF1830

Saturday afternoon.  This group came early and motivated.

DSCF1836

Dusty crackin’ shots off with a Glock 23 she picked up from us a few weeks earlier.

DSCF1837

Kevin here is shooting a Glock 17 from the supine position.  I really enjoyed his desire to learn and ask questions.

DSCF1838

That is an empty case shooting past Tims right shoulder.

DSCF1841

Class 071109.  Great job guys and gals.  This was a seriously hot day.  I had heat exhaustion for most of it and almost threw up a few times.  I am sure they were not doing much better.

DSCF1842

Its hard to see in this picture but Matt here had never fired a pistol before and his first group outlined in black marker was about 15″, with a little instruction we had him shooting sub 2″ groups.  Our shooters typically shrink groups by 50-85% with instruction and direction.  Awesome shooting!  (His first groups is centered on the number 9, his second group is on the number 1)

DSCF1853

From left to right- Nicole, Matt, Jason, Arianna.  Nicole looks a little too happy to be shooting dont you think :)

DSCF1855

Shooting with the dominant hand only.

DSCF1860

Jason shooting from supine with a Glock 17 and X300 light he picked up from us a few days prior.

DSCF1870

Class 071209  Nicole is an alumni that took the class as a refresher.  It is very evident that she has been dry fire practicing and live fire training.  Great job crew.

Photos of the FREE Vehicle fighting class on 071209 can be found on the FREE classes link ——>

DSCF2020

The Hinker’s (from left to right) Marcie, Paul, and Grace.  Great form.  Gun in the work space and getting a type II malfunction cleared up.

DSCF2031

Marcie laying down the heat.  This pic is one of my favorites.  Her hair looks so aerodynamic.  She looks fast even when she is standing still :)

DSCF2038

This is a bad guys worst nightmare…. we got each of these student shooting sub 3″ groups in short order and I would almost feel sorry for the bad guy…… almost.

DSCF2039

Marcie is the poster child for focused, controlled determination.  Her trigger control was simply amazing.  She is a very playful gal, but when its go time….. She is all business!

DSCF2091

Paul shooting from the fetal position.  Paul took our class in February of this year.  He and his wife took the class in sub 30 degree weather and did very well.  It was clear that Paul had been practicing and was able to refine his skill.  Paul is a quite dude but every once in a while you could get him laughing…. usually is was us watching the girls do something completely unexpected and off the wall :)

DSCF2105

Marcie on the left with demon horns on her targets head.  Grace with a small halo over hers.

DSCF2110

Grace showing exceptional form.  She went from an 11″ group to a sub 3″ group in very short amount of time.

DSCF2115

Marcie showing great form shooting multiple steel targets.  Marcie has serious GUN-FU.   How can you help but not just love this girl……she beams confidence!

DSCF2119

Class 072609  This picture just about says it all.  Our class boils down life to a duality…. Winning and Losing.  These women already embody the commitment and drive nessessary to make winning part of their everyday lives.  They are off to SD school of Mines.  They are track stars from Lyons, CO.    Is there any doubt that they will be a huge success in what every they do? :) I enjoy teaching every class I have ever taught.  I was actually dreading the end of class because I was having so much fun.   I asked Paul to adopt me :)   So I had to do something to drag class out a little longer…..

DSCF2122

… Extra credit included shooting an AKS-74U!  If you havent noticed…. they are twins.

…..Yoda in Empire Strikes Back said to Obi-Wan in refrence to Luke Skywalker leaving……”There is another….Skywalker……”   Well…. Paul did the same thing near the end of class…….”There is another……Hinker” :)     If she is anything like these two…. I better start getting ready now.

Thank you for a very memorable class.

DSCF2137

Clark, Stephanine, Jon, Floyd, and Bob kickin’ off the first drills of the day.

DSCF2154

Stephanie shooting her AR while going from kneeling to standing.

DSCF2180

Bob in the foreground shooting a Tantal AK-74 variant equipt with our trademarked AK Lightning Bolt ™.  Floyd is laying down fire so Bob can bound to the next barrel.

DSCF2185

Bob and Floyd at the final leg of the bounding drill.  Communication is key in this drill to ensure that your teammate gets to the end with you.  Great job guys.

DSCF2194

Floyd and Jon getting ready to move a teammate to the next piece of cover.  Jon did very well with the standard AR open iron sights.

DSCF2200

Damn… she is so cool lookin!  You cannot tell in this picture but she was near the point of heat exhastion and compleated this drill with a determined mission to get her and her teammate to the forward cover positions and back.  Several times her teammates gun went down and she kept rounds going down range.  She even transitioned to her pistol several times to give him time to get to cover.  Her pistol shooting had been improving over the last few months as well.

DSCF2201

Clark was Stephanies team mate in the final X.  He showed great composure while dealing with equipment problems and finished the drill.

DSCF2205

Stephanie transitioning from rifle to pistol.

DSCF2164

Jon covering the 12 o’clock position.

DSCF2221

Everyone is familiar with this steel plate.  We use it to teach shooting on the move and multiple target engagement.  This is what happens when they get beat up and are retired… they become rifle plates. :)   I totally forgot to take a class photo… so this plate will have to do.

DSCF2223

An AK-103K along side our new Burris spotting scope.  This thing is amazing and really helped speed things up when we were confirming zero’s.  Mr. Zemitis at Burris has been very gracious with our classes in the past and we have on many occasions had the chance to showcase the FastFire II and other combat optics.  We are lucky to have them right in our back yard.  Thank you again.  The day was blistering hot and i give props to those that attended.  You all moved along well in learning a valuable skill.

DSCF2231

Rob, Glenn and Nate start off the day with turning drills.

DSCF2241

Glenn shooting from supine position at 25 yards.

DSCF2242

Yes, this is Nate my store manager.  He is about to turn 21.  I cannot think of a cooler thing to do than take a pistol class prior to enjoying your new right of passage to own a handgun.

DSCF2249

Nate is in the middle of shooting multiple targets with our rental Glock 17.

DSCF2250

Here is class 08112009.  This was a tuesday class and the guys did very well.  We had alot of great questions and that always makes for a great day.   We have a no nonsense approach to training that does focus on showing people how to fight and win.  This always challenges ego and pride and if students are open to new ideas then they always get more than they paid for.  Good job guys.

DSCF2269

James  is our youngest student ever at 14 years old.  Paul Hinker is putting a tourniquet on and checking for a pulse to make sure it cut off circulation.  James wants to be a nurse and I think he has a bright future.

DSCF2273

James is applying an H-Bandage on Paul.  Alot of this stuff was 100% new for most people in class and some had some previous medical experience.  These H-Bandages rock.  As these guys how tight they get :)

DSCF2274

Bob getting and H-Bandage on Leslie.  I think Leslie had the bandages on the most in class.  I think thats because she stood close to me and she was easy to grab on too :)

DSCF2280

Matt is getting a tourniquet on the non-dominant arm.  This drill is hard and required him to shoot and load with only his right hand.  This class is not easy and required alot of decision making in a small amount of time, and while in a simulated gun fight.

DSCF2290

Here they are Class TACMED 08162009.  It was a hot day and we ended the day with a pretty good storm.  Of the last 2 years this was the most enjoyable tacmed class yet.  Great attitudes, great questions, and alot of drive to learn as much as they could.  Thank you all for a great day.

DSCF2325

Nat at the UNC RecFest 2009.  He was doing some marketing for Colorado Shooting Sports, but rumor has it he was pickin’ up chicks :)

DSCF2349

Derec runnin his piece dry.

DSCF2353

Camille not only went from a beginner shooter to a very confident shooter…. but she looks great doing it.  :)

DSCF2377

Derec going supine with a Glock 23.  Interesting things happen when we shoot from supine and fetal position and its great for students to see that for themselves.

DSCF2384

Nothing says “Hey dumb ass, ya picked the wrong guy to mug” that to reload your guy right in front of him :)   (after you gave him a lesson on terminal ballistics.  Nice reload Derek.

DSCF2398

Phil here came from South Carolina and spent the day with us getting hot and sweaty.  Phil kicks ass and I like his no nonsense, focused mindset.

DSCF2404

Ouch.  Camille dont mess around.  We had time for extra credit after class.  Here she is defending against a choke attack from the rear.  She is seen here liberating the sanguinous fluids and reproductive organs from someone who will no longer be needing them.  Rock on Camille.

DSCF2406

Class 08222009.  It was very hot, rough conditions in class and they kept on pushing.  Great job.

DSCF2408

Shotgun class is underway. We are learning about sights, ammunition types, type of shotgun actions, etc.

DSCF2409

Here we are working on stance as well as how to run the actions correctly to help us get fast follow up shots.

DSCF2426

Nicole is about to get a type II malfunction cleared up.  These drills are not fun, but they build confidence and develop a life saving skill.

DSCF2429

Jason about to clear a type III malfunction.  Type III’s are a pain.  I will say Jason could clear them very fast.  Yes that shotgun barrel is very very short. :)

DSCF2432

Jason shooting at 25, 50,74 yards with slugs.  His first two shots were less than 2 inches apart.  Out of a 14″ barrel.  This was the shortest, most accurate gun in class.  This is my personal gun that gets rented out.  We sell these at the store and build them to this exact spec. (minus the really short barrel)

DSCF2433

This is Jasons target.  Each person patterned their shotgun with buckshot at 5,7, 10,15, 25, 35 yards and then at 25, 50, 74 yards with slugs.  Those 2 big holes above the black circle are Jasons slugs at 25, 50 yards!  Damn.

DSCF2437

Nichole, James, and Jason in the prone.

DSCF2444

James running and gunning.  He works in the security field and gets extra points for wearing level IIA armor with a trauma plate in the blazing heat.  That kicks ass!

DSCF2458

Nichole running a tricked out 870 and I am running a tricked out Saiga 12.  It is basically an AK in 12 gauge.

DSCF2463

Here they are.  Tactical Shotgun class 08232009.

DSCF2477

Erik and Robert getting the day started.   Erik spent a few years in Iraq as a firefighter and we were very fortunate to have him spend the day with us.

DSCF2483

Robert shooting from the supine position.

DSCF2487

Jim Rakke shooting from retention.  That big coke can shaped thing that is coming at the camera is an empty 45 ACP case.

DSCF2491

Mark Moore kicking off shots during the multiple target drills.

DSCF2498

Here is class 08292009.   Terri here has slipped to the dark side and is wearing here gangsta style hat :)   Terri is so tough.  We recheduled to get her in with her husband several times due to a hospitalization just a few weeks ago.  Good job  team.

DSCF2502

Here we are in the classroom with Luke Shilts.  We are working on the proper grip of a fighting pistol.  And yeah…. he is kinda tall. :)

DSCF2504

Gary here decided half way through the classroom portion of class to buy a Glock 22 from us.  Having never shot it before, he was printing extremely small groups.  Here he is racking the slide correctly on his pistol.

DSCF2508

Anselmo shooting one of our Glock 19s.  This was taken during a drill meant to show how to defend against an attack from the rear.

DSCF2520

Luke and Jerry shooting with the left hand only.

DSCF2524

POW.  Dont mess with Angie.  She is shooting one of our rental Glock 19s from the supine position.  She went from a 14″ group to about a 5″ group very quickly, and her confidence with something that was very intimidating was greatly increased.

DSCF2525

Travis is retired military and here he is shooting from the supine position.  His positive attitude was fuel to push us through the day.

DSCF2526

Jerry here is enrolled in the Aims Police academy.  I was so happy to have him in class.  To be able to imprint upon him the mindset and aggressive attitude required to win at all cost.   Here he is shooting from the supine position.  I wish him well in his career and hope that he sees me as a resource because we will be here for him.

DSCF2535

Jerry here shooting multiple targets with gun in full recoil.

DSCF2501

I am kicking myself because I forgot to take a class photo!  This is the only picture that has most of the students in it.  Class 08302009.

DSCF2604

William shooting from retention position.  William is a VietnamVeteran with 2 tours as a US Marine helicopter pilot.  He is just as ready to roll as he was as a kid!  It was great hanging out and training with him.

DSCF2612

Lauren here is doing a little “extra credit” during a break.  She is drawing a revolver from a “gun Purse”  We used this time to discuss all the shortcomings of revolvers when compared to a semi-auto- lower shot capacity, less accuracy, snagging issues, reliability, etc, etc.

DSCF2616

Lauren shooting from supine with a rental Glock 17.  Dudes better watch out because she can shoot!

DSCF2617

Keith here is a Federal Agent with an Investigations Unit.  He would be the first to say that sounds waaay to “official”. I alwsy like to tell my Military, Law Enforcement, and other gun toters that I get “partial credit” for their “kills” since I helped train them :)   Keiths enthusiasm and dedication in class was awesome.

DSCF2621

Class 091309.  Great job Lauren and Keith.

DSCF0005

3rd Quarter Advanced Pistol class is off to a running start.  Vicki here getting a quick refresher on trigger reset.

DSCF0037

Here I am giving a quick demo of a reloading drill that will allow them to speed up how fast bad guys get ventilated.

DSCF0050

We are working on how to shoot the pistol with a flashlight in the support hand.

DSCF0052

Discussing the finer points of navigating confined spaces with a pistol and a flashlight.

DSCF0059

Justin getting ready to light up a bad guy.

DSCF0110

Justin shooting multiple steel targets with a hostage target mixed in.  Here he is executing a slick rack with good form.

DSCF0135

This is a sweet picture of Shannon moving off the line of attack and fighting back.  That is an empty 45 ACP case flying over his hand.

DSCF0163

Eloy shooting with dominate hand only.  That is an empty case just above the gun.  Great form.

DSCF0166

Here i am “fighting” with Erik prior to him turning and destroying his foe!

DSCF0176

Matt and Erik teamed up.  You can bearly see it but Erik has just finished inserting a new magazine into his gun and is about to rack the slide.  Look at that solid muzzle dicipline!

DSCF0184

George and Eloy laying down some heat and getting ready to switch shooters.

DSCF0199

Brian leaving no question as to where he stands.  Here he is shooting while his teammate reloads.DSCF0203

This is the aftermath of 360 rounds.  You can see Brian through the carnage.

DSCF2639

Matt here is tenderizing the bad guy prior to lighting up his friend.

DSCF2648

Vicki.  You see Vicki is a good shooter…. But most good shooters are NOT good fighters I have found.  Vicki is both a good shooter and a fighter.  She bled and pushed harder than I think even she thought she would.  I am always amazed at her and enjoy having her in class.  She is an alumni of Tac Pistol, Tac Medical, and now Advanced.

DSCF2652

Brian literally flattening the bag.  Brian is an Alumni of our very first pistol class and it was good to finally get him in our Advanced class.

DSCF2659

Justin beating the tar out of this dude.  Justin was also in our very first Tactical Pistol class.  He owns the very first Glock 19 pistol I owned and carried for 10 years.

DSCF2662

Erik here with his Basrah firedept t-shirt.  Erik spent 2 years in Iraq and his presence in class reminds us of the quality of people we have all over the world… watching over us.

DSCF2666

George getting ready to do some dental work on this guy.  George did awesome and I enjoyed his enthusiasm.

DSCF2672

This picture of Eloy is intense to say the least.  We are looking for a smooth progression of force when confronted with violence and being able to fight with your hands is essential.

DSCF2678

I couldnt let them have all the fun.  We need to find our limits-  physical, mental, emotional, spiritual… and strive to exceed them every chance possible.

DSCF2686

Here they are  Advanced Class 091909 3rd Quarter.  What a great bunch of people.  First off…. Thank you to Bob for his assistance in setting up for class so we could move smoothly through drills.  We changed a few things from the 2nd quarter Advanced Class and I am very happy with the results.  We are adding in a few more drills for the 4th Quarter Dec. 27th Advanced Pistol class and I am sure it will get people really pumped.

We had alumni spanning 2 years in this class and I am just very happy with how hard they worked and the progress they made during the day.  We destroyed myths, pushed limits, tested endurance, and showed that all limits are purely mental and do not really exist.  I look forward to training with you again soon.

DSCF2706

Terry and Ray getting the day started off with dot drills

DSCF2708

Dan shooting a Glock 21SF during the turning drills

DSCF2712

Bobby shooting from the supine position.  In May of this year on the UNC campus, Bobby was attacked by two guys with a sawed off shotgun.  Bobby made it through and was kind enough to share some valuable info with us that backs up alot of what we teach with the bodies reaction to adrenaline and how we can all be better prepared.  I hope to see more of Bobby at the FREE classes.

DSCF2713

Ray is a new resident from New York.  He is enjoying his new found consitutional rights and we all enjoyed his great questions and he was a just absorbing info.

DSCF2719

Class 092609  Great Job guys.  Good shooting and great drive.  Hope to see you all again soon.

DSCF2977

Class 10032009.  The first 912 Preparedness committee Tactical Pistol Class.  I am very proud of them.  It was a wonderful thing to see them change and to trust not only themselves but their teammates.

DSCF2031

In class we discuss alot of anatomy and phisiology.  We learned how to end fights quickly with good hits.

DSCF2046

Here we are looking at the foam head target.  When we need to end a fight quickly, we still need to know just the right place to shoot.

DSCF2050

Yes, it is a pistol class, but we do discuss the role of the rifle for self-defense and how the current political and economic climate will require that we all own a rifle and know how to use it.

DSCF2072

Paige, Margaret, and Marc closest to camera prepare to move to position 2 of the draw stroke.

DSCF2078

Clark and Margaret listen as we discuss sight alignment.

DSC_0207

We are discussing important legal aspects of the use of deadly force.

DSC_0214

Connie here has cat like reflexes :)   We are discussing the legal interpretation of INTENT.

DSC_0238

Yeah… I know… I know… Its a pistol class right?  Wrong.  We teach you to fight with ANYTHING.  Here we are showing how to defend against a rear attack with a fighting knife.

DSC_0248

We are just about to start weapon handling drills.

DSC_0300

They are already starting to look more intimidating and professional :)

DSC_0321

We are just about to start the first drills of the day.  This is our first pictures of students in jackets in a long while.

DSCF3050

Here I am “fighting” with Eric, prior to him doing and 180 and smoking a bad guy.

DSCF3068

Say hi to Michael… 18 years old and this kid can shoot.  Must go to a public school :)   I caught him smiling from time to time so I know he had a good time.

Live fire drills.  Jack and Paige battle the exhastion, cold, wind, rain, and a time limit to stop the bleeding and return fire.

DSCF3128

Time and blood and draining away.  Students here stop a femoral bleed before returning fire.  At this point it is about 9 p.m.

DSCF3133

Marc battled through a simulated bleed on the left arm and here he is delivering shots.

DSCF3101

Class 10042009 Our second 912 class.  These students fought through 11 straight hours of difficult training.  You can see on their faces that they are very different people than they were just 12 hours earlier.  Thank you for being safe and working hard.  Congratulations.

This baby was born in my mind about 3 months ago.  It is modular and we changed the internal configuration 3 times today.

DSCF3151

Travis and Gary smoking badguys.

This class had just under 20 students.  Sorry for the lack of pictures but we had two cameras and we ran about 95% video because it just looked so amazing.  Thank you to all for keeping it safe.  This class was as fun to watch as it was to do.  We fully anticipate this to be our most saught after class in 2010.  It is being offer twice next year and its big brother our 8 hr CQB class will feature rifle and pistol work.  Our 2010 schedeule should be posted withing the next 3-4 weeks.  thanks agian for your hard work.

DSCF3194

John here is shooting from retention.  Nice big holes at this range :)

DSCF3197

Oliver here is in the middle of shooting multiple bad guys.

DSCF3199

John on multile steel targets

DSCF3201

Tami is seen here smokin’ simulated bad guys.  Tami shot awesome and has such a great laugh.  She was a blast to have in class.

DSCF3202

Here they are.  Class 10182009.  Greap job team!

DSCF3350

Devon shooting from Supine position.

DSCF3356

Brett shooting from the fetal position.   It is vital to know how our shots displace from this position.

DSCF3373

Paul showing good form near the end of the day.  Look at that grip.  Awesome!

DSCF3360

Paul shooting from the retention position.  This drill really gets your heart racing.

DSCF3374

Here they are.  Class 11012009.  This was a fun class and the relaxed nature of their personalities combined with hard focus on countering the threat made for a very balanced and fun day.   Good job guys.

DSCF3385

Low Light/Night Fighting FREE class.   Here we see James getting ready to see how his carry ammo performs in low light conditions.

DSCF3391

Dusty shot some awesome groups with very little light.  The rail under the barel of his gun allows the attachment of a tactical pistol light.

DSCF3403

Great job guys.  Our next Low light/ Night fighting class on Dec. 5th already has over 12 people signed up.  We are going to cap the Dec. 5th 3 for 1 at 20 so get signed up for the last remaining spots.

DSCF3409

Teri is shooting from retention.  Great form despite the flying debris.

DSCF3413

Roger shooting our G22 rental.  He was able to squeeze alot of performance out of that pistol.

DSCF3415

Class 11082009.  I am so proud of these two.  Teri is a great gal and she was able to not only push past alot of barriers…. she destroyed them.  We look forward to seeing them again.

Leah Faulkner and I are about to demostrate how to properly check to see if a gun is loaded.

Girls will be girls :)   They were ganging up on me so I had to seperate them. :)

John, Margie, Erik, and Adam.  These students came ready to bang and came with great attitudes.

All 11 students lined up as we discuss the body mind connection that can win or lose us the fight.

Perry Buck.  I dont know if she is doing kung-fu or gun-fu.  :)   She is a ball of energy that helped push us all as the weather started to get nice and cold.

I know Mrs. Loew has got my back. :)

John and margie stuffing mags.  It is critical that we learn all aspects of how to run our weapons.

This is Erica…. or more specifically this is Erica’s Glock 19 magazine…. we have never seen this “unique” was of carrying a third high capacity magazine.  She may just start a trend :)

Mrs. Loew’s journey of a thousand steps begins with this drill that to the naked eye is about shooting well… but really it is about complete and total trust in one thing…. the front sight.

This is typical for our students.  Her first group was 26″.  Within 5 minutes she was shooting sub 2″ groups.  By that way most police officers cannot shoot consistant 2″ groups.  Great job girl.

nichole here is shooting a Glock 19 she picked up from us a few days prior at our KFKA/Colorado Shooting Sports open house.  I am not sure if she realizes just how much she improved and also how much she helped motivate others.

Do not attempt to adjust your television.  This level of kick assery will knock you on your butt. :)

John looks like a powdered donut.  Yeah we like to get dirty in class

Bad dudes were getting smoked!

Perry shooting on the move.  Moving is key to avoiding incoming rounds.

Now THAT is team work.  We lost sunlight and temp very fast at the end of the day and yet they still shot better and better.  I forgot to tak a class photos but these are the girls and guys of class 11212009.

Bob, Britton, and James getting the range day started.  This was Britton’s first class with us.  Bob and James are multiple alumni that took the class again as a refresher.  Bob when one step further and did the whole clas with his left hand only.  Britton was in good company.

James drillin’ some mofo’s

Britton ran on of our Glock 17’s in class.  He actually shot decent when he showed up and we were able to fine tune him.

Bob shooting multiple steel targets with the left hand and his right hand as the support hand.

Britton shooting from supine.

Britton shooting from the retention position.

Class 11222009.  great job guys.

PJ Loew putting the hut on some bad guys

karla shooting form the fetal position.  She is shooting one of our rental Glock 19s but she is looking at taking the next step of getting her very own! Awesome.

Ben rolling out of fetal position to load in a new magazine while staying low profile is an example of great mindset.

Attourney Robert Loew showing perfect form on the draw stroke. He is about to shoot two seperate targets with three shots each.  It wa s pleaure having someone like Mr. Loew in class to expand on several Colorado statues that pertain to self defense.

Karla lighting up several bad guys.

Gina’s gun is almost back in battery after recoil.  The empty case is just above her gun.  Gina made HUGE progress through the day and I am very proud of her resilience.  This is not an easy class.  But we have people who love us that need for us to know how to fight so we can always come home.

Class 11282009.  Great job.

And so begins the first ever 3 in 1 FREE classes for alumni of our Tactical Pistol Class.  We ended up with a record setting 33 students through the day.  8 for Vehicle gun fighting, 16 for Tactical Medical, and 9 for Low Light/Night Fighting.  This is a sweet picture of Kacey rippin’ off a double tap out of the driver side window.

Kelly shooting multiple bad guys out the passenger window.  Thank you Kelly for letting us use your vehicle for class…. and yes… there were no additional holes in it when we were done :)

Kacey and Stephanie are bounding out of a simulated vehicle ambush with the vehicle disabled.  Poor gang bangers…. all shot to sh***** :)

Blood loss is a killer that we can fight back against, but we have to know where the key Arteries are in the body.

We discussed how arteries work and how wound mechanisms can complicate our efforts to save lives.

Roger Waters of rock and roll fame :)  and Shannon have secured a tourniquet and about to check that no pulse is present.

Eric is checking Mark for a lack of pulse while Kelly looks on.  Mark looks WAY to happy to be in pain..  That is awesome!

Margie is doing what ever it takes to get that tourniquet on while her husband John looks on.  This is just a great example of fighting mindset.

Erika getting picked on again. :)   She took Tactical Pistol only a few weeks ago and I was instantly taken back that she was asking to get into Tactical Medical as we were finishing up her first class.  Usually people have to take a deep breath before they jump back in with me… I was very impressed.

Students working on Karla who in this scenario had a gunshot wound to the chest.  Lots of problems present themselves and we have to triage and take care of the most life threatening.

Shannon and Erika work on a student that presents with multiple gunshot wounds.  There is also the complication of another victim laying partially on the first victim.  Who gets priority?  What wounds get priority?  Lots of confusion in a situation like this.

This picture pretty much says it all.  Ben in this simulation has to assess the enviroment before getting to the patient.

Amy Oliver putting a tourniquet to Marks right arm.  She was assisted later by Margie with a pressure bandage and continued elevation of the arm.  The tight confines of the store helped add a little stress and pressure.

Kacey applying a pressure bandage to a open head injury on Robert Loew.   I tried to conceal the injury but Kacy figured it out and got on task.

Students on the line doing live fire tactical medical drills….. yeah it was cold…. so what!  You think gun fights dont happen in the winter?  I know of one local PD that actually cancelled firearms training on the same day we were out…. That kind of thing has got to stop, but at least these students will be ready.

Underneath multiple layers of fleece, wool, Gortex, animal skins, and probably a tarp is the one and only Amy Oliver.  What I love about my students is that they are not afraid to come up and ask questions or ask for assistance…. it is why I exist.  She asked for a quick refresher and within 1-2 minutes we had her ringing a steel plate with a Glock 19.

Thank you to all the student warriors who came out to learn advanced skills to defend themselves, but also life saving skills that will enhance the safety of their community.  I never expected this kindof turn out but I can see how this multiple FREE class format can help those with busy schedules.  Thank you for your hard work and safety.

Anthony, this was more fun than a human being should be allowed to have with your clothes on!

It was HOT and a great class. Add a kiddie pool to cool off in on days like this.

The pics are great (thanks Preston & John) and I want a CD.

Anthony, great advanced tactical pistol class you put on for Jun. The prep time you put into it was well worth it for us and I think I speak for all when I say thanks.
I’m glad I found a place to train with proffesionals who take fighting seriously instead of just standing still plinking a target. All the drills you and Preston took time to set up were awsome and made us think through the drills, fighting is out-thinking your opponent and we learned some valuable skills there.
I am a security proffesional and patrol some of the less desireable real estate in town and I will say you have made me much more capable as well as safe. I also feel much better knowing there are fellow warriors out there that are armed and trained to fight should the need arise.
    HOOOH YAAAH INSTRUCTOR ANTHONY !!

August 2nd CSS Tactical Rifle Class: This class was GRRRRREAT! (that sounds like Tony the Tiger said it)

Anthony, you did a fantastic job of challenging us all. We each took things from this class that will keep sprouting new realizations for us for some time to come. It was intense at times and fun at times. (fun overall)

That steel plate above, we all got a piece of that dude, from about 75 yards, too. SWEET!

To my class mates, you guys & Stephanie ROCK. Any time, if you need cover……… my Commie rifle will work.

  5. Matt Nabity Says:

Tactical pistol was amazing! All the things we learned really showed up during the Tac Med class (can’t wait for those pics and vids!!). I can’t wait to do your Advanced Tac Pistol classs that sounds like a total blast

  6. Travis Says:

I loved the tactical pistol class, can’t wait to take the other classes at Colorado Shooting Sports. This class beat anything I ever did in the military! Thanks Anthony.

  7. Bob Berends Says:

Anthony, 9-19-09 Advanced Tactical Pistol class, was very inspirational. I am honored to have assisted you in getting things up and running. The students that you have are the most amazing people. If you moved them as you continue to move me, watch out for the tidal wave of new students.

This class was challenging and fun, too. Everyone made great gains in their personal skills as the class moved on. It is amazing to assist in the slightest way as you pass on this valuable skill set to these good people. Any of them can be my backup anytime! (or reversed)

  8. Brian Smallwood Says:

Hey Anthony, Great job with the Advanced Tactical Pistol class. We had a great time. Keep up the hard work and dedication to the students, its a great thing to watch everyone learn something new.
hope to see everyone next time

GUD 10-11-09 WOW! WOW! WOW! Let me just say WOW!

Not only was this an amazing group of people to train with, but the class that you put on, Anthony, was just incredible. WOW! did I just say that again? It looked a bit shaky when the wall fell down before we ever got to the “house” but it was so much more. This class confused, challenged, and stressed me and left me feeling like I have another whole wing to my “family”. Anthony, you continue to put out a top notch training experience and introduce me to more great people who are thinking that we are not victims and have the ability to defend against a trouble situation.

These are life changing classes that I have attended with you and I thank you very much for the continuing education.

One more lesson learned, do not try to staple a balloon to cardboard while backing up the contact point with your other hand. Yeah I did.

  12. Andrew Kissler Says:

All I can say is that class was sweet. I didn’t realize there was so much stuff to look for when entering a house and clearing it. I had a blast with everyone, the class was great.

    Thanks Anthony.

  13. Micah Kissler Says:

I agree with Laser Bob WOW!!! Anthony you put on one hell of a class. I enjoyed every part even when the sun went down and the wind picked up. When I walk in to any room now I enter it totally different because you never know whats around the next corner.

Anthony your enthusiasm and knowledge makes class a riot..

    LETS DO IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    THANKS!!!!!!

  14. Leslie Says:
